Claims Analyst – Surety & Fidelity

CapSpecialty® is seekinga Claims Analyst to join our Surety & Fidelity team. This individual will be responsible for the overall accurate, prompt and efficient adjustment of assigned claim files typically involving our transactional surety claims with losses of $30,000 or less. Communicating with appropriate parties to expedite the timely handling, investigation, analysis, denial or settlement of claims. Serving as the initial customer service contact for the claims department and providing system expertise in initial claims processing and set up. Supporting the claims staff by processing claims data, preparing claim files and answering or directing incoming calls or correspondence.


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years previous business office and/or customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience in insurance/surety & fidelity industry and/or claims environment highly desirable.
  • Requires adjuster licensing and continuing education as per various states' regulations.


Essential skills:

  • Knowledge of basic insurance or surety bond concepts
  • Skills in communicating, negotiating, organizing, analyzing, problem solving, and decision-making.
  • Resiliency and ability to respond rapidly to changing work conditions and expectations. 
  • Ability to use basic software programs and technical applications.
  • The incumbent will encounter some problems that are complex and must be able to think laterally and creatively, although many are standardized.  The incumbent will normally choose from a number of established policies or procedures to complete their work to resolve problems.
